Certificate in Real Estate
The real estate profession includes the many individuals who are involved in the process of the sale of real property. The Diablo Valley College real estate certificate program is designed to prepare students for a variety of career in real estate, advance the careers of those already employed in the field or to provide knowledge for the consumer/investor who would like to become better informed.
As a student of the real estate program, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of the profession though studying many of the following topics:

There are several different programs of study at Diablo Valley College for both the real estate professional and for the consumer/investor. The certificate of achievement program is designed to establish a solid foundation in all phases of real estate. Two additional programs, real estate salesperson's license and real estate broker's license, are designed to prepare students who are planning to take their license exams.
Why study Real Estate?
The real estate field offers an exciting career in the buying and selling of property. Professionals have the personal satisfaction of working with and assisting people through a large and often stressful transaction.
The real estate market fluctuates according to current interest rates and other economic factors. While the income of most real estate professionals is also affected by these variables, a well-trained broker or salesperson can be highly successful in their earnings.
The real estate field in California is highly competitive. While there is always a need for well-trained real estate professionals in almost every area of the state, prospects are always best for highly trained, ambitious, sales-minded individuals.
There are two types of real estate professional: brokers and salespersons. Brokers are licensed to set up their own business, while salespersons must work under a licensed broker or brokerage firm.
How long will it take to earn a certificate?
It generally takes students two years to earn the certificate of achievement. The course of study to prepared for the real estate broker's license examination will also required about two years of study. The real estate salesperson's license program generally takes less than two years to complete. The length of time to complete programs will depend on the sequence in which the classes are taken and the frequency of class offerings.
