Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate

The University of San Diego’s Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate was founded in 1993, became the Real Estate Institute in 1998, and was re-named with an endowment gift in September 2004. The center's mission is to deliver outstanding education, industry outreach, career placement and research services to advance socially responsible leadership in real estate. Our vision is to be a world-class real estate center.

The Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate is led by executive director Mark Riedy, Ph.D., and includes: communications coordinator Meghan Bokath, academic affairs and administration director Lisa Chambers, instructor John Demas, commercial real estate director John Ferber, residential real estate director Louis Galuppo, executive assistant Ilse Hunnicutt, assistant professor Rohit Kishore, Ph.D., student and alumni services coordinator Lauren Lukens, associate professor Charles Tu, Ph.D., communications director Jeryldine Tully, as well as several USD affiliated faculty. Pre-eminent real estate scholar Norm Miller, Ph.D., also joined the center in the fall of 2007 as a full professor and director of academic programs.

The center staff and affiliated faculty are actively expanding USD’s academic curriculum at the undergraduate and graduate levels while simultaneously creating a wide range of career-oriented opportunities for students outside of the classroom. All of the center’s initiatives are industry-oriented and attempt to maximize students’ opportunities to get involved directly in the real estate industry, both in the classroom and in extracurricular programs.
