Real estate salaries

Pay in real estate depends really on what you make. Some of the wealthiest persons in the world have made it in the world of real estate. But, for most of us, salaries are inferior. In a new investigation the median salary of property and real estate agents was $29,000 a year. However, many made more than $40,000 a year. This is a business where you can get good money with hard work and a little luck.

How much can you earn?
Real estate agents are normally paid on commission. This commission is a proportion of the sales price. The seller will usually pay 4-6% of the sales price as the fee for having a expert sell their property. That will frequently be split similarly between the seller's agent and agent who bring the buyer to the table.

As an example, if the fee for a $400,000 property is 6%, the buyer's agent will be rewarded 3% or $12,000 and the seller's agent will also be rewarded 3% or $12,000. The agent is paid directly by the employing agent, using their agreed-upon commission split. This is habitually 50-50 for beginning agents, so in that case the agent in our example would obtain $6,000.
